An alternative way to specify the Classpath

The Java compiler and the Java Virtual Machine has a default list of classpaths that is obtained from the environment variable CLASSPATH
Caveat:

Setting the environment variable CLASSPATH:

In UNIX (ksh and bash)
In Windows, travel to the CLASSPATH variable using this sequence of menus:

Example: (running the myLib.TestPackage class using CLASSPATH setting)

export CLASSPATH=".:/home/cs170000/myLib"; cd to any directory !!! java myLib.TestPackage (will work from anywhere)
